Be My T'hai'la by TheHalfBloodPierrot Be My T'hai'la by TheHalfBloodPierrot
Valentine’s Day is coming. I say: the trekkier, the merrier.
“T’hai’la” is the Vulcan word for “lover”, “friend”, “brother” – it indicates deep affection.

I love the sentiment behind this, but, and correct me if I'm wrong, I believe the proper spelling is "T'hy'la"...

Actually, it's “”T'hai'la”, properly, but the “y” is a common mistake C:

“In the early days of Earth-Vulcan contact, before the United Federation of Planets was formed and FSE was formalized, an inaccurate transliteration alphabet was devised for FSE speakers and many errors have continued to the present. You often see "y" written instead of the more accurate "ai", for example. This is because the "y" in English is a consonant or a vowel, whereas in Vulcan it is only a consonant.”

Huh, how interesting. Someone should go in and correct Memory Beta to reflect this.
